Indian Bank Plans 100 Branches, 2,500 Hires in FY27

Indian Bank wants to grow during FY27.

It plans to open about 100 new branches, especially in Central and Western India.

The bank also plans to hire around 2,500 people.

Some of these workers will replace employees who retire.

Indian Bank wants fewer of its loans to become difficult for borrowers to repay.

It plans to sell ₹200 crore of bad loans to a company that manages such loans.

The bank expects its gold-loan business to grow from about ₹1.25 lakh crore to more than ₹1.5 lakh crore.

Loans to retail customers, farmers and small businesses make up 65% of its lending.

The bank expects gold loans to grow by about 20%, partly through lending against more gold.
