Pakistan Summons Imran Khan's Sister Over Army Remarks
Pakistan's anti-cybercrime agency has asked Noreen Niazi, the sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, to come to their office.
They say she made false and offensive statements about the army on social media.
In an interview, she claimed that a fight between Pakistan and India last year was planned by Pakistan's military leaders and India's Prime Minister Modi.
She also said India did not fight back strongly because of some secret agreement.
Some government officials are upset with her comments and say they are not good for Pakistan.
The agency wants her to explain her statements.
Niazi's remarks have been criticized by Punjab Minister Azma Bokhari, who says they reflect a mindset uncomfortable with Pakistan's achievements and are against the national interest.
Pakistan's anti-cybercrime body issued summons to Noreen Niazi for alleged defamatory remarks about the army.
Niazi claimed in an interview that the May 2025 India-Pakistan conflict was orchestrated by Pakistan's military and India's PM Modi.
She suggested India refrained from escalating the conflict due to a secret understanding and Pakistan's potential recognition of Israel.
Punjab Minister Azma Bokhari criticized Niazi's remarks, calling them against national interest and highly condemnable.
Niazi was asked to appear at the agency's Islamabad office on Monday to record her statement.
