IIT-H Launches Driverless Shuttle for Campus Transportation
Imagine a small, electric bus that drives itself around the IIT Hyderabad campus.
This is a driverless shuttle built by the school using special sensors and smart computer programs (AI).
It can 'see' the road, avoid things, and carry people safely.
The project started in August 2023 and is funded by the government.
Students who have used the shuttle are very happy with it.
The creators plan to use this technology in other places, like airports and gated communities, and even make driverless cars and drones for India's unique roads.
IIT-H launched a driverless electric shuttle on campus, created by TiHAN.
The shuttle, deployed in August 2023, uses advanced sensors and AI.
The project is funded by the Department of Science and Technology.
The shuttle has a 90% satisfaction rate after 10,000+ rides.
TiHAN plans to expand the technology to other sectors.
