Central Railway’s Swachhata Rath Removes 168,000 Kilograms of Waste

Central Railway ran a special train to help clean railway tracks and stations.

The clean-up took place on October 4, 2026, between CSMT and Dadar.

Workers collected muck, garbage and other waste at five stations.

The train, called the Swachhata Rath, carried away 168,000 kilograms of waste.

The waste was packed into 2,800 bags and sent to approved disposal or processing points.

A team of 881 railway and contract workers helped.

The drive was part of an ongoing cleanliness campaign.

Keeping rubbish off the tracks can also help prevent drains from getting clogged.
