Chandigarh to Develop Portal for Schedule H Drug Monitoring
The Chandigarh government is creating a new system to keep track of certain medicines, called Schedule H drugs.
They will create a website where pharmacies can upload their records so the government can monitor them.
They will also inspect pharmacies, ensure they have security cameras, and start a drug de-addiction center.
Additionally, they are working to eliminate tobacco vendors near schools and increase awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
There's also a mental health helpline, Tele MANAS, available for anyone needing support.
Chandigarh administration will create a portal for real-time monitoring of Schedule H drugs.
Chemists will upload records of Schedule H drugs to the portal.
SDMs will inspect chemist shops monthly with drug inspectors.
All chemist shops must have CCTV cameras with at least 30 days of footage.
A drug de-addiction centre is planned and awareness campaigns will be implemented.
