Vijay to Appear Before CBI in Karur Stampede Case
A tragic stampede happened during a big public meeting with actor-politician Vijay in Karur on September 27, 2023.
Many people died, and many got hurt.
The government asked the CBI, a special investigation team, to find out what went wrong.
They are looking at Vijay's campaign bus, talking to important people like the event organizers and the local government officials.

Actor-politician Vijay is set to appear before the CBI in New Delhi on January 8, 2024, in connection with the Karur stampede investigation.
The CBI has examined several TVK office-bearers, including N. Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, CTR Nirmal Kumar, and Mathiyazhagan, as well as the Karur District Collector and Superintendent of Police.
The CBI inspected Vijay's campaign bus, checking its CCTV systems and other onboard facilities, and questioned the bus driver, Bharanidharan (34).
Vijay has decided to cooperate fully with the investigation and comply with the summons, following legal advice.
The investigation was handed over to the CBI following directions from the Supreme Court, which ordered a CBI probe into the incident.
