Honeywell, TruAlt Bioenergy Partner for 80,000 TPA SAF Project
Honeywell and TruAlt Bioenergy have teamed up to build a big plant in India that will make special fuel for airplanes.
This fuel is called sustainable aviation fuel, or SAF, and it's made from something called ethanol, which comes from plants.
The plant will make 80,000 tonnes of this fuel every year.
The goal is to help airplanes create less pollution and to make India more self-sufficient in making this kind of fuel.
Honeywell has special technology that helps turn ethanol into this airplane fuel.
The project also supports India's vision of being self-reliant in making sustainable fuels.
Both companies are excited about this project because it will help the environment and create more demand for bioethanol, which is good for farmers and the energy industry.
Honeywell and TruAlt Bioenergy Limited have signed an agreement to produce 80,000 TPA of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in India using Honeywell's Ethanol-to-Jet (ETJ) technology.
The project aims to establish one of India's first grassroots, dedicated SAF production facilities using ethanol as a feedstock.
Honeywell's ETJ technology can convert ethanol from renewable sources into SAF and can also produce renewable diesel, supporting emission reduction in the road transport sector.
The collaboration aligns with the Government of India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, promoting domestic biofuel production and reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the aviation sector.
TruAlt Bioenergy's Managing Director, Vijay Nirani, stated that the agreement supports the development of India's sustainable aviation fuel ecosystem and emphasizes the use of domestic feedstocks and industrial capability.
