IITs Restrict 22 Firms After Unfulfilled Student Job Offers

Several companies gave jobs to students through IIT campus placements but later did not provide those jobs.

Because of this, the IITs reportedly decided to stop working with 22 companies for two placement seasons.

More than 150 student offers may have been affected.

Oracle is reportedly one of the companies involved.

The companies will be told about the decision by September 30.

The IITs are calling the action “non-cooperation” instead of blacklisting.

Placement offices are sending students’ resumes to other companies.

About 20% to 30% of the affected students have reportedly found jobs through these efforts.
