West Bengal CM Accuses TMC of Rs 15,000 Crore Leak
The chief minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, said that over the last 15 years, a huge amount of money—about 15,000 crore rupees—was stolen from the state’s revenue in a district called Birbhum.
He blamed the former chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, for letting this happen.
Police found a lot of money and gold in the house of a stone trader named Tullu Mondal, and they have taken many of his cars, houses and land.
Suvendu says his government is now getting more money from the stone trade and wants to stop the theft.
He also praised the police for their work in catching the criminals.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari alleges a Rs 15,000 crore revenue leak in Birbhum district over 15 years under former TMC rule.
He accuses former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of enabling the racket, citing institutional complicity across multiple departments.
Police recovered Rs 28.5 crore in cash and 15 kg of gold from stone trader Mohammad Nazibuddin alias Tullu Mondal’s residence, with assets worth ~Rs 150 crore seized.
Investigations have frozen Tullu Mondal’s bank accounts (Rs 93 crore) and seized 21 properties, 242 vehicles, and 300 bighas of land.
Adhikari claims revenue from the stone sector has risen under his BJP-led government, citing a 12% increase in 11 weeks and a target of 20% by year‑end.
