8-Foot Snake Rescued From Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat Residence
On the evening of August 17, people found two snakes hiding in the garden of a famous actor's big home in Mumbai, India.
The actor is Shah Rukh Khan, and his house is called Mannat.
A snake expert named Vicky Dubey came to help, and forest officials were also told about the snakes.
Dubey carefully caught one snake, which was eight feet long, longer than most people are tall.
It was a Dhaman, also called an Indian Rat Snake, and it has no venom, so it is safe for people.
The second snake got away while everyone was watching, and a search that lasted until late at night could not find it.
Dubey told everyone not to panic because the snake he caught was not dangerous.
After being caught, the Dhaman was set free in its natural home, following the forest department's rules.
Khan's house is being repaired and painted, and news reports say his family is not staying there right now.
Two snakes were found in the garden of Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai residence, Mannat, on the evening of August 17; one article says they were beneath a shed, while another says the captured snake was found under a staircase.
Snake rescuer Vicky Dubey captured an approximately 8-foot Dhaman (Indian Rat Snake), a non-venomous species harmless to humans.
The second snake escaped as people gathered, and a search of the premises that continued until late at night failed to locate it.
Dubey notified Forest Department Round Officer Deepak Dada Gaikwad and the Mumbai Range Office controller in Thane; the rescued Dhaman was released into its natural habitat per Forest Department protocols.
Mannat is undergoing major renovation and Khan's family is reportedly not staying there; earlier this year a snake was also rescued from Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments.
