18-Year-Old's Hand Amputated at Wrist, Reattached in 7-Hour Surgery

An 18-year-old person had their hand cut off at the wrist.

Doctors at a hospital called Yashoda Medicity were able to put the hand back on.

The surgery took seven hours.

A doctor named Shobhit Sharma said the procedure was like a race against time.

The patient got to the hospital quickly, within a special period called the 'golden window.'

That quick arrival made a huge difference to the outcome.

During the surgery, doctors used a microscope to fix tiny blood vessels, tendons, and nerves.

They had to work with very careful precision on every small part.

After the surgery, blood is flowing to the hand again.

The doctors say the hand now has restored blood supply.
