No home ministry proposal to rename Bhabua Road station: Vaishnaw
There is a railway station in Bihar named Bhabua Road.
Some people wanted to change its name to Maa Mundeshwari Dham Railway Station because a very old and famous religious place is nearby.
A member of parliament named Shivesh Kumar asked the government about this.
The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, said the railway department has not received any proposal for the name change.
Changing a railway station's name takes many steps.
The Home Ministry is the main office that approves new names after state governments recommend the change.
After approval, the state government publishes an official notice, and the railways put up the new name.
So for now, the station keeps its old name.
Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Ministry of Railways has received no proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs to rename Bhabua Road Railway Station.
BJP MP Shivesh Kumar asked whether any proposal was received to rename the station as Maa Mundeshwari Dham Railway Station.
The station is located in Bihar's Kaimur district, near the renowned ancient religious site.
Vaishnaw said the Ministry of Home Affairs is the competent authority to approve railway station name changes.
The minister explained that after MHA approval, the state government issues a gazette notification and the concerned zonal railways implement the change.
