Delhi Expands Winter Pollution Enforcement With 334 Monitoring Teams
Delhi is preparing for more air pollution during the winter.
Government officials from Delhi and nearby states met to plan their response.
Delhi will create 78 teams to inspect areas day and night.
Another 256 teams will watch pollution problems in local wards.
The teams will look for burning waste, dusty construction sites, dirty factories and illegal dumping.
They will also check whether construction projects follow pollution rules.
Officials have selected 48 hotspots for extra attention.
District Magistrates will supervise action in those places.
The Centre and several states said they need to work together because pollution affects the whole region.
The Centre and Delhi government reviewed preparations for Delhi-NCR’s winter air pollution season.
Delhi will deploy 78 sub-divisional teams across 39 sub-divisions for round-the-clock inspections.
Another 256 ward-level teams will monitor pollution sources across MCD, NDMC and cantonment areas.
Teams will target biomass burning, construction dust, industrial emissions, unauthorised fuels and illegal dumping.
