NYC Mayor-Elect Mamdani Weighs Moving From Leaky Apartment to Historic Gracie Mansion
Zohran Mamdani is going to be the next mayor of New York City!
Right now, he and his wife live in a small one-bedroom apartment that's only 800 square feet.
Sometimes, it even has problems like a leaky sink, and they feel it's a bit too small for them.
He has a big choice to make: should he move into Gracie Mansion?
Gracie Mansion is a very old and very big house, about 11,000 square feet, where the mayor usually lives.
It has fancy things like chandeliers, a special chef, and beautiful gardens.
Many past mayors have lived there because it’s safe and big enough for parties.
Mamdani hasn’t decided yet, but he knows he will be working at City Hall every day.
Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani and his wife currently live in an 800-square-foot, one-bedroom rental apartment in Astoria.
Mamdani has described their current apartment as 'a little too small' and mentioned issues like a leaky sink.
He is considering moving into Gracie Mansion, the 11,000-square-foot official mayoral residence on the Upper East Side.
Gracie Mansion offers amenities such as a full-time chef, extensive grounds, and views of the East River.
Mamdani has confirmed that his work location will be City Hall, regardless of where he chooses to live.
