Jubilee Hills Graveyard Issue Back to Square One
The government in Hyderabad tried to give some land to the Muslim community for a graveyard in Jubilee Hills.
They even started the process to give the land, but some local people who are supported by the BJP party protested.
They went to the court, and the court said to stop the process for now.
The Muslim community is sad because they really need this graveyard, but they will keep fighting for it.
There are also other places where they wanted to make graveyards, but those are also stuck because of problems.
The Telangana High Court issued a status quo order on January 7, halting the allocation of land for a graveyard in Jubilee Hills.
The government had allocated 1 acre of land near Peeli Dargah in Yousufguda for the graveyard, following a high-level meeting on December 29.
Protests by locals backed by the BJP led to a writ petition in the High Court, resulting in the status quo order.
The Muslim community expressed disappointment, stating that the Borabanda locality lacks a graveyard and the land near Peeli Dargah had been under consideration for a long time.
Other proposed graveyard sites in Erragadda and Shaikpet remain in limbo due to protests and legal claims.
