Special Trains for Velankanni Festival
Southern Railway is running special trains between Ernakulam in Kerala and Velankanni in Tamil Nadu to help people travel to the Velankanni Festival.
These trains will run on specific dates in August and September 2026.
The trains will leave Ernakulam in the afternoon and arrive in Velankanni early the next morning.
On the return trip, they will leave Velankanni in the evening and arrive in Ernakulam the next day.
The trains will stop at many important stations along the way, making it easier for people from different places to reach Velankanni.
This is to help manage the big crowd expected during the festival.
