Pakistan Signs Crypto Deal with Trump-Linked Firm
Pakistan has made a deal with a company connected to the Trump family to use their digital money, called a stablecoin, for sending money between countries.
This is one of the first times a country has publicly agreed to work with this company, called World Liberty Financial.
Pakistan wants to use this digital money to make it easier to send money from one place to another, like when people send money to their families in different countries.
The deal was announced when the boss of World Liberty visited Pakistan.
Pakistan is also working on its own digital money and is making rules for using digital money in the country.
The deal is important because it shows that Pakistan is trying to use new technology to make money transactions better and safer.
Pakistan signed an agreement with World Liberty Financial, a crypto firm linked to the Trump family, to explore using its USD1 stablecoin for cross-border payments.
The agreement is one of the first publicly announced partnerships between World Liberty and a sovereign state.
Pakistan's central bank will work with World Liberty to integrate the USD1 stablecoin into a regulated digital payments structure.
Pakistan is also developing its own digital currency and finalizing legislation to regulate virtual assets.
The deal was announced during a visit by Zach Witkoff, CEO of World Liberty, to Islamabad.
