BRS Alleges Major Scam in Microbrewery Licences
A politician named T. Harish Rao from the BRS party said that the government is doing something wrong when giving permits to places that make beer.
He thinks that 25 out of 110 permits were saved for important people, and a lot of money is being collected secretly for each permit.
He also said that the government is giving water to beer companies instead of farmers, which is not fair.
He warned that this might cause problems for the state's money because big companies are not being paid and there are fights over who gets the money.
BRS alleges major irregularities in the grant of microbrewery licences.
25 out of 110 applications allegedly earmarked for ministerial and political quotas.
Alleged unofficial collection of Rs. 1.80 crore per brewery licence.
Government accused of prioritizing water supply for beer companies over farmers.
Multinational liquor companies threaten to stop supplies due to non-payment of dues.
