Manipur Official Warns of Lost Generation Due to Ongoing Conflict
Imagine a place where lots of people are fighting, and kids are stuck in the middle.
The head of a children's protection group in Manipur is worried that all the fighting could ruin a whole generation of kids.
He's concerned because many kids are feeling very sad and stressed.
Some kids have even taken their own lives.
This is happening because of broken schools, lost homes, and scary situations.
The official wants the government to quickly start a special plan to help these kids, especially those living in temporary shelters.
He believes this plan could help protect them.
The Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) is concerned about the impact of conflict on children.
MCPCR Chairman Keisam Pradipkumar says the state risks losing a generation.
At least four minors have died by suicide in recent months.
An independent survey found many displaced people have post-traumatic stress.
The MCPCR calls for immediate implementation of the Manipur State Policy for Children.
