Bandh in 2 J'khand districts gets lukewarm response, life unaffected
A political party in India called for a one-day strike in two districts.
They wanted to protest something that happened to tribal people.
However, most people did not participate in the strike.
Shops, schools, and offices stayed open, and buses and cars moved around as usual.
The police said there was no violence and that attempts to enforce the strike were stopped.
The strike had very little impact on daily life in these areas.
BJP's 12-hour bandh in West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts had a lukewarm response.
Schools, offices, and businesses operated as usual with normal vehicular movement.
The bandh was called to protest alleged baton-charge on tribals during a demonstration.
Supporters attempted rallies to enforce the bandh, but their efforts were foiled.
No violence or preventive arrests were reported, with transport largely unaffected.
