Dividend Alert: Record Dates for Five Stocks Coming Up This Week

Sometimes companies share a little bit of their profits with people who own shares of the company, called shareholders.

This money is called a dividend.

Before paying dividends, companies set a special date called the record date, which decides who gets the money.

If your name is on the company's list on that date, you get the dividend payment.

Five big Indian companies have a record date coming up on August 13.

Bharat Electronics will pay 0.55 rupees per share, and Godrej Consumer Products will pay 5 rupees per share.

Power Grid Corporation will pay 1.25 rupees per share if its shareholders approve it.

South Indian Bank will pay 0.45 rupees per share, and Prestige Estate Projects will pay 2 rupees per share.

Shareholders need to own these stocks on or before the record date to receive the payments.
