NIA Chargesheets Three in Bengaluru Prison Radicalisation Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against three more people in a case involving a terror plot in Bengaluru.
This case is linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a banned terror group.
The accused include a mother who helped terrorists, a prison guard who took bribes, and a doctor who smuggled phones into prison.
They were all part of a plan to help a dangerous prisoner named T Naseer escape and cause trouble in the city.
The NIA is still looking for other people involved in this plot.
The NIA chargesheeted Anees Fathima, Chan Pasha A, and Dr Nagaraj S in the 2023 Bengaluru prison radicalisation case linked to LeT.
Anees Fathima, mother of absconder Junaid Ahmed, provided logistical support, funds, and handled weapons within the prison.
Chan Pasha A, a prison guard, received bribes to share information about prisoner escorts.
Dr Nagaraj S, a psychiatrist, smuggled mobile phones into the prison, which were used to communicate and plan terror activities.
The conspiracy aimed to facilitate the escape of T Naseer, a life convict in multiple terror cases, and disrupt India's security.
