Nepal Flood Dogs Remain Amid Ruins Awaiting Missing Caretakers
Floods in Nepal destroyed many homes and left some people missing.
One black-and-white dog stayed beside the place where his home may have been.
Rescue workers tried to call him and offer biscuits, but he would not leave.
Loud machines and passing vehicles did not make him go away.
People now put food and water near him.
In another place, a dog named Lilly is also waiting near a destroyed site.
Her caretaker, a hotel owner, is among those still missing.
A video showed another tired dog sitting inside a damaged house.
These dogs show how animals can remain attached to the people and places they know.
A collared black-and-white dog remains near four homes washed away in Trishuli Bazaar, Nepal.
The dog ignores heavy machinery, vehicles and attempts to lure him away with biscuits.
Workers say he repeatedly returns to what appears to be his former doorway and yard boundary.
Residents now leave food and water nearby while clearing and recovery operations continue.
Another dog named Lilly remains near a destroyed site in Dhunge, while a separate video shows a dog inside a ruined house.
