Govt Extends Time for RE Projects Delayed by GIB Case

Govt Extends Time for RE Projects Delayed by GIB Case

The Indian government has given extra time to some renewable energy projects that were delayed.

These projects were delayed because they needed permission to build power lines above the ground, but the permission was delayed because of a court case about a bird called the Great Indian Bustard.

The court case made it hard for the projects to get the needed permission.

The government said this delay was not the fault of the project developers and is like a big unexpected problem.

So, they are giving these projects more time to finish.

The extra time is for the period when the court case was still going on.

This will help the projects catch up on their work.

The government also said that the projects can pass on this extra time to the people who are helping them, like the companies that build the projects and supply materials.

But if a project already got extra time for another reason, that time will be taken off from the new extra time.

Also, only projects that asked for permission before December 19, 2025, can get this extra time.
