Fitness Trainer Lists When Skipping Gym Is Smarter
A fitness trainer named Adi Rad shared a list of times when it's actually smarter to skip the gym.
She says you should skip if you're really sick, haven't eaten all day, didn't sleep at all, feel pain (not just soreness), just had a big emotional meltdown, or are feeling burnt out.
Another expert, Sadhna Singh, agrees and explains why these things can make working out unsafe.
For example, being sick can make your immune system work harder, and not eating or sleeping can make you more likely to get hurt.
They both say it's important to listen to your body and rest when you need to.
Skipping the gym can be smarter than pushing through when you're sick, haven't eaten, or didn't sleep.
Adi Rad lists six situations where training can backfire, including illness, lack of fuel, sleep deprivation, pain, emotional distress, and burnout.
Sadhna Singh agrees and explains the risks, like increased injury risk and prolonged recovery.
The 'above the neck = okay to train / below the neck = REST' rule is a useful guideline for illness.
Pain, not just soreness, is a sign to avoid or modify your workout.
