Welspun Living Q1 Net Profit Plummets 52% to Rs 89.3 Crore
Welspun Living, a company that makes home textiles like towels and bed sheets, didn't do as well this past quarter.
Their profit went down by more than half because they sold less stuff overall.
The company made less money from exports and had smaller profit margins, meaning they made less money on each product sold.
However, their sales of things like rugs to customers in their own country went up.
Despite these changes, the company did manage to reduce how much money they owed.
The stock market also reacted negatively to the news, with shares dropping in value.
Welspun Living's Q1 net profit decreased by 52% year-on-year to Rs 89.3 crore.
Revenue from operations declined 11% to Rs 2,261 crore.
Operating profit (EBITDA) dropped 34% to Rs 226 crore, with margins falling to 10%.
The company's home textile exports and advanced textile segments also saw declines.
Net debt reduced to Rs 1,401 crore, and shares closed down 3.45% on the BSE.
