Punjab Police Strength to Exceed 1 Lakh with New Investigator Training
Imagine Punjab's police force is like a school team that needs more players and better training.
The Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, is saying they are going to recruit many more police officers so the team has over 100,000 players soon.
He also started a special training camp for about 730 officers.
This camp teaches them new ways to catch bad guys, especially those who sell drugs.
It's important because laws are changing, and they need to know the latest rules and how to gather evidence so criminals can't get away.
The Chief Minister mentioned that in the past, sometimes criminals escaped because of legal tricks or outside help, but now, he says, that won't happen.
This training will help the police be smarter and faster at their jobs.
Punjab's police force is set to expand to over one lakh personnel through a major recruitment drive.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a six-day certified investigator training course for 730 police officers.
The training aims to equip officers with advanced methods and legal knowledge to effectively investigate drug-related cases.
The course covers new legal procedures, evidence preservation, and understanding the tactics of drug traffickers.
The government claims to have ended political interference in police investigations.
