China Cuts Tax Rebates on Solar Products
China is changing its tax rules for some products.
Starting soon, they will stop giving money back for things like solar cells and batteries.
This might affect companies that make these products, like Premier Energies and Waaree Energies.
These companies' stocks have been going down a lot lately.
China is doing this to help control how much of these products are being made and sold.
China will cancel tax rebates for 249 products, including solar cells, starting April 1, 2024.
Rebates for photovoltaic products will be completely removed by April 1, 2026.
Battery-related goods will see rebate rates lowered to 6% from 9%, with complete removal by January 1, 2027.
Premier Energies and Waaree Energies shares have been underperforming, with significant drops from their peaks.
Both companies are new entrants to the futures & options (F&O) space.
