TIFR to Launch 10 Scientific Balloons for High-Altitude Research from Hyderabad
The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Hyderabad is going to send up 10 big balloons with special cameras and tools to take pictures and do experiments in the sky.
These balloons will fly high up, almost as high as some airplanes fly.
After they finish their work, the balloons will come back down to Earth using parachutes.
They might land in different places, so people should not touch them if they see them.
Scientists will come and collect them, and they'll give money to the person who finds them, but only if the balloons aren't opened or broken.
TIFR to conduct 10 scientific balloon flights from Hyderabad between Oct 25 and Dec 31
Balloons to be launched from TIFR's Hyderabad facility between 8 pm and 6:30 am
Balloons will carry scientific instruments to altitudes of 30 km to 42 km
After experiments, instruments will be released and descend using parachutes
Balloons and instruments may land in districts along Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam-Sholapur belt
