Bihar Government Accepts Students’ Single-Phase Teacher Exam Demand

Some students in Bihar were protesting about teacher recruitment exams.

They wanted the exam to be held in one phase and for recruitment to be transparent.

Their protests included an attempt to march to the chief minister’s residence.

Police and protesters clashed during that action.

The government then met with representatives of the protesters.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced that the upcoming exams would be held in one phase.

Education Minister Mithlesh Tiwary said helping students solve their problems is the government’s responsibility.

A student-union leader said the government had agreed to act on all 15 demands submitted by the protesters.
