IRCC Warns Students on Study Permit Scams
Canada's immigration department, IRCC, has warned international students to be careful when applying for study permits.
They said students must make sure all information in their application is true and complete.
If students give false information, they might be banned from entering Canada for up to five years.
IRCC also warned about scams where people promise to help students get into schools or get jobs in exchange for money.
Students should only trust official sources and be careful when dealing with representatives.
They should also make sure to pay tuition fees directly to the school and not pay extra for visitor visas or eTAs, as these are automatically included with the study permit.
IRCC warns international students about fraud and misrepresentation in study permit applications.
False information can lead to a refusal and a ban from entering Canada for up to five years.
Students must have a letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI) before applying.
IRCC advises students to be cautious of scams promising guaranteed admissions, scholarships, or jobs.
Students should use only authorized representatives and pay tuition fees directly to the school.
