Congress Leader Says Delhi Police Took Ex-Bureaucrat Away

Former civil servant Ashish Joshi could not be reached after he was allegedly taken away in Delhi.

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said two plainclothes police personnel took Joshi during a morning walk at Nehru Park.

Dikshit said Joshi’s phone was later switched off.

He also said an eyewitness reported that Joshi was being taken for questioning about a recent post on social media.

Joshi’s car was reportedly found near a police station in New Friends Colony.

Lawyers and others searched several police offices but could not confirm where Joshi was.

Activists and opposition leaders asked the police to explain what happened.

Delhi Police had not publicly confirmed that Joshi was detained or arrested.

The allegation came after Joshi had posted claims about disagreements over police action against protesting students.
