Andhra Pradesh Reshuffles Zilla Parishad CEOs After District Reorganisation
Andhra Pradesh has changed which officers lead several district-level local government bodies.
These bodies are called Zilla Praja Parishads.
The changes follow the state’s reorganisation into 28 districts.
The government issued the orders on October 10, 2026, and temporarily relaxed its rule against transfers.
The orders name new chief executives and deputy chief executives for several parishads.
They also move M. Nageswara Rao to lead the District Rural Development Agency in Tirupati.
Officials will work out local-body reservations after the government publishes a gazette notification.
The changes are intended to help the reorganised parishads function and prepare for local body elections.
Andhra Pradesh issued orders appointing and transferring CEOs and Deputy CEOs to reconstituted Zilla Praja Parishads.
The orders, G.O.Rt. No. 973, were issued by the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department on October 10, 2026.
The government relaxed its transfer ban to align Zilla Parishad administration with the state’s 28-district structure.
The orders name CEOs for 15 Zilla Praja Parishads and set out several Deputy CEO postings and transfers.
Officials are to finalise local-body reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and women after a government gazette notification.
