VMC Urges Regularisation of Unauthorised Properties
The Vijayawada city government is asking people who own buildings or land that were built without permission to make them legal.
They have to apply by certain dates and pay some extra money.
If they don't, they won't get water, electricity, or be able to sell their property.
Some older buildings can get a discount if they can show they paid taxes.
People should apply online on the government's websites.
VMC urges owners to regularise unauthorised layouts, plots, and buildings by deadlines.
Unauthorised layouts/plots formed up to June 30, 2025, eligible for LRS with penal charges.
Applications for LRS must be submitted by January 23, 2026, online with 50% penal charges.
Unregularised properties will be denied basic services and entered in Prohibited Property Watch Register.
Buildings constructed before December 31, 1997, eligible for 25% rebate on regularisation charges with tax proof.
