Mozilla's Pocket to Shut Down in July, Alternatives Offered
Imagine you have a special box called Pocket where you save interesting articles to read later.
Mozilla, the company that makes Pocket, is closing it down in July.
If you use Pocket, you need to move your saved articles before October because after that, they will be gone.
Mozilla wants to make the bookmarking tool inside their Firefox browser better, so they are putting their energy there instead.
There are other similar boxes, like Raindrop.io and Instapaper, where you can save articles instead.
Mozilla is shutting down its Pocket bookmarking service in July.
Users must export their data by October 8 before it is permanently deleted.
Pocket will remain accessible for three months after the shutdown to access bookmarked links.
Mozilla is focusing on improving the bookmarking experience within Firefox.
Alternatives to Pocket include Raindrop.io, Instapaper, Wallabag, and Linkwarden.
