Nomura Predicts Nifty 50 at 29,300 by 2026
Nomura, a big investment company, thinks that the Nifty 50, which is a group of 50 big Indian company stocks, will go up to 29,300 by the end of 2026.
That's about 12% higher than it is now.
They think this will happen because the world is a little less tense, India's economy is strong, and companies are making more money.
They also think that the Indian government's policies will help the market.
Nomura likes stocks in banks, medicine, computers, and some other areas.
Another company, InCred Equities, thinks that smaller company stocks, called smallcaps, will also go up by 20-25% by the end of 2026.
However, Nomura warns that investors should be careful and not buy stocks that are too expensive just because they have a good story.
They should pick stocks that have good earnings and reasonable prices.
Nomura is positive about some sectors like financials, pharmaceuticals, and IT services, but cautious about others like infrastructure and consumer staples.
Nomura sets Nifty 50 target at 29,300 by 2026-end, about 12% higher than current levels.
Projection based on 21 times December 2027 earnings and a 3% downside to consensus earnings forecasts.
Optimism driven by easing geopolitical tensions, steady macro fundamentals, and cyclical economic rebound.
Domestic inflows remain strong, reducing the influence of foreign institutional investors.
Corporate earnings expected to rebound in FY26, led by commodity-linked sectors like chemicals, oil & gas, cement, and metals.
