Putin Blames NATO Expansion and Western Pressure for Ukraine War

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Western countries helped cause the Ukraine war.

He pointed to NATO expanding toward Russia and pressure placed on Moscow.

Putin said efforts to bring Ukraine into NATO increased after Viktor Yanukovych left Ukraine’s presidency in 2014.

He blamed Western globalist elites for the crisis.

Putin also warned that European soldiers sent to Ukraine could lead to a direct war with Russia.

He denied that Russia is planning to threaten European countries.

During his visit to New Delhi, Putin met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi said India was ready to help with peace efforts and supported dialogue and diplomacy.

The leaders also discussed increasing trade and cooperation between India and Russia.
