BJP Plans to Use BRICS Summit Success Ahead of Elections
India hosted a meeting called the BRICS summit in New Delhi.
Leaders from several large emerging economies attended it.
The meeting ended with a shared declaration, including strong criticism of the Pahalgam terror attack.
BJP leaders say this makes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India look stronger internationally.
They also believe it answers opposition criticism of the government’s foreign policy.
The BJP plans to discuss the summit during its Seva Sankalp campaign.
That campaign will begin on September 17 and reach out to young people, women and farmers.
The party hopes the summit’s success will help it in state elections planned for 2027.
The BJP intends to use the 18th BRICS summit’s outcomes to strengthen its campaign narrative before 2027 state assembly elections.
BRICS condemned the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack and called for zero tolerance toward cross-border terrorism.
BJP sources described the summit’s consensus declaration as a diplomatic boost for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India.
The party plans to highlight the summit during its nationwide month-long Seva Sankalp campaign beginning September 17.
The summit produced outcomes involving logistics, start-ups, infectious disease control, financial crime, cyber fraud and cross-border scam networks.
