India, China Hold Border Talks, Agree to Resolve Ground Issues
Imagine India and China are like two neighbors who share a backyard fence, and sometimes they have disagreements about where the fence line really is.
They recently had a meeting, with military leaders from both sides talking.
This meeting happened on Saturday at a spot on the Indian side of the border.
They talked a lot about how to take care of the shared border, especially in the western area, and how to fix any small problems that might pop up on the ground.
Both countries agreed that it's important to keep talking, using both their military and diplomatic teams.
This is part of an ongoing effort to keep things peaceful, especially after some serious arguments and even a fight back in 2020 where soldiers were hurt.
They also mentioned that keeping the border calm helps both countries get along better and focus on other things like trade and working together.
The militaries of India and China held their 23rd round of Corps Commander-Level talks on Saturday.
The talks took place at the Moldo-Chushul border meeting point on the Indian side.
Both sides engaged in 'active and in-depth communication' on border management in the western sector.
They agreed to continue dialogue through military and diplomatic channels to resolve 'ground issues' and maintain stability.
The meeting aims to de-escalate tensions following the 2020 border standoff and builds on a previous pact to lower military tensions.
