Andhra Pradesh to Legalize Unapproved Constructions Since 1985 with New Scheme
Imagine you built a room onto your house without asking the town, and the town has rules about this.
Now, the town is saying, 'Okay, if you built something without permission between 1985 and 2025, this is your last chance to tell us and pay a fee to make it official.'
They are doing this to make sure all buildings are safe and planned out properly.
If you don't sign up for this special program by the deadline, and you built something without permission, the town will have to tear it down and you might get in trouble.
The money they collect will be used to fix things like roads and drainage in the towns.
Andhra Pradesh government introduces Building Penalisation Scheme–2025 to legalize unauthorized constructions.
The scheme covers buildings constructed between January 1, 1985, and August 31, 2025.
Property owners have 120 days to apply online and pay regularization charges ranging from Rs. 40 to Rs. 400 per sq-ft.
Revenue generated will fund urban renewal projects like drainage and road improvements.
Strict action, including demolition and prosecution, will follow after August 31, 2025, for new unauthorized constructions.
