Belgharia railway overbridge closed for repairs
The Belgharia railway overbridge, which connects important areas in the northern part of the city, will be closed for a few months starting from Saturday.
This is because the bridge needs repairs to make it stronger and safer.
Engineers from the railways and the Public Works Department (PWD) will work together to replace at least a dozen girders.
The closure will cause some traffic problems, so the police have made a plan to divert vehicles using different roads.
People are asked to be patient during this time because the repairs are very important.
The bridge is used by many vehicles every day, so keeping it in good condition is crucial.
The Belgharia railway overbridge will be closed for repair and maintenance starting from Saturday.
The project involves engineers from both the railways and the Public Works Department (PWD).
Vehicular movement will be diverted via Nilgunge Road, Texmaco, and MB Road during the closure.
At least a dozen girders of the overbridge will be replaced, with work expected to last a few months.
The closure is necessary to enhance the bridge's stability and prevent further wear and tear from heavy goods vehicles.
