Delhi Court Frames Charges in Teen Bus Rape Case

A Delhi court has formally charged two men who worked on a bus.

They are accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

The girl was travelling toward Noida on the night of August 4 and, according to prosecutors, mistakenly got off at the wrong place in heavy rain.

Prosecutors say she got onto the bus after being told it was going toward Noida.

They allege the driver and conductor assaulted and threatened her before leaving her near Kashmere Gate.

The men deny the allegations, and their lawyers said the evidence was made up.

The judge said the evidence would be examined during the trial.

The next listed hearing is October 24, when the girl’s evidence is to be recorded.
