RBI Proposes Linking BRICS Digital Currencies

The Reserve Bank of India has suggested that BRICS countries connect their digital currencies to make it easier to pay for things when trading or traveling between them.

This could mean using less US dollars, which might not make the US very happy.

The idea will be discussed at a big meeting in 2026, hosted by India.

All BRICS countries are testing their own digital money, and India's digital rupee already has millions of users.

However, making this work will need everyone to agree on how to do it, and there might be some challenges along the way.
