CPM MP Criticizes Priyanka Gandhi's Tea Party With PM Modi
A Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP named John Brittas is upset because Priyanka Gandhi, a Congress MP, had tea with Prime Minister Modi and other BJP leaders right after the Winter Session of Parliament.
Brittas thinks this was a bad idea because it happened right after the government made big changes to a law called MGNREGA.
He believes it sends the wrong message to people and could make the opposition parties look weak.
He also mentioned that in the past, opposition leaders stayed away from such events when the government did things they didn't like.
Brittas thinks it's important for the opposition to stay united and not be too friendly with the ruling party.
CPI(M) MP John Brittas criticized Priyanka Gandhi for attending a tea party with PM Modi and other BJP leaders after the Winter Session of Parliament.
Brittas described the event as sending a 'wrong message' to the public, especially after the government's amendments to the MGNREGA.
He expressed concern that such camaraderie could harm opposition unity and weaken their stance against the ruling party.
Brittas highlighted that opposition leaders have historically avoided such informal engagements during contentious legislative developments.
The tea party was hosted by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to mark the formal closure of the Winter Session of Parliament.
