ITR Filing Simplified: Rent From One Flat Or Many?
In India, people who earn money from their jobs, one house they rent out, and other small things like interest can use a simple form called ITR-1 to file their taxes.
But if someone earns rent from more than one house, they can't use ITR-1.
Instead, they must use a different form called ITR-2.
This is because ITR-1 is only for people with simpler income sources, while ITR-2 is for those with more complex income, like rent from multiple properties.
ITR-1 is for resident individuals with income up to Rs 50 lakh from salary, one house property, and other sources.
ITR-2 is required for individuals with rental income from more than one house property.
ITR-1 is suitable for simpler income sources.
ITR-2 is for more complex income scenarios.
The choice between ITR-1 and ITR-2 depends on the number of house properties generating rental income.
