Vinaytosh Mishra Takes Additional Charge as Odisha DGP
A very important police leader in Odisha, named Vinaytosh Mishra, got a new big job.
The old leader, Y B Khurania, retired, so Mishra is now in charge of all the police in the state.
He was welcomed with a special ceremony and a guard of honour.
Mishra will do this job until a new permanent leader is chosen.
He said he wants to keep women safe, stop drugs, and fight cybercrimes.
He also wants to help people affected by floods in the state.
The police will work with a special rescue team called ODRAF to help those people.

Vinaytosh Mishra, a 1993-batch IPS officer, took additional charge as Odisha DGP on Sunday following the retirement of Y B Khurania.
Mishra, who was DGP (Crime Branch), was welcomed by senior police officers and accorded a guard of honour at the police headquarters in Cuttack.
He will head Odisha Police until a regular DGP is appointed, and is scheduled to retire in a few months.
His priorities include women's safety, a drug-free Odisha, and controlling cybercrimes, along with assisting flood-affected people with ODRAF.
The interim appointment comes amid a Supreme Court PIL challenging alleged irregularities in DGP selection, with UPSC directed not to finalize decisions until August 18.
