Requests for Netaji's Remains and Memorial Unanswered
Two people have asked the Indian government for things related to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
One is an actor named Somnath Gupta who wants to build a memorial for Netaji in New Delhi.
The other is Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji's grandnephew, who wants the government to bring Netaji's remains back from Japan.
The government has not answered these requests.
The actor was told that there is a ban on building memorials.
The grandnephew wants the remains to be brought back by 23 January 2025 and a memorial to be built.
He says it is dishonorable that Netaji's remains are in a foreign land.
Somnath Gupta, a TV actor, requested permission to build a Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial in New Delhi.
The Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs denied the request due to a ban on developing memorials.
Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji's grandnephew, requested the Prime Minister to bring Netaji's remains from Japan.
The government has not responded to either request, leaving both requests unanswered.
