IMD issues red alert for Himachal districts
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for four districts in Himachal Pradesh and an orange alert for five other districts.
This is because of heavy rain and bad weather, which can cause landslides, mudslides, and flash floods.
The IMD advises people to stay away from areas that are prone to these dangers and to avoid going near rivers, streams, and waterfalls.
They also suggest limiting outdoor activities and staying away from weak structures.
Because of the bad weather, two toy train services on the Kalka-Shimla railway line have been canceled.
IMD issued red alert for Kangra, Una, Solan, and Sirmaur districts in Himachal Pradesh.
Orange alert issued for Chamba, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Shimla, and Mandi districts.
Warnings include landslides, mudslides, shooting stones, and flash floods.
Advisories advise avoiding vulnerable areas and limiting outdoor activities.
