Water Shortage Complicates Ganesha Idol Immersion Plans in Karimnagar

Water Shortage Complicates Ganesha Idol Immersion Plans in Karimnagar

Many people in Karimnagar and Sircilla have prepared Ganesha idols for a festival ceremony.

The idols are usually placed in tanks, canals, or rivers for immersion.

This year, there has been less rain, so some water bodies are too dry.

Karimnagar officials want water released from the SRSP project into the Chinthakunta canal.

They are also cleaning the immersion site and repairing the nearby bund.

Another immersion location, Kothapalli tank, has a court-related problem involving private land.

In Sircilla, the Manair river does not have enough water.

Officials are therefore digging two large artificial ponds for the ceremony.
