Taiwan Detects 20 Chinese Aircraft and 6 Vessels; G7 Reaffirms Indo-Pacific Stability
Imagine Taiwan is like a house, and China is a neighbor who sometimes sends many toy planes and boats very close to the house's yard.
Taiwan's defense team watches these toys to make sure they don't come too close.
On Saturday, they saw 20 toy planes and 6 toy boats.
Many of these toy planes flew into the special 'watching zone' around Taiwan's house.
This happens often, and Taiwan's team always watches and gets ready.
Meanwhile, a group of important world leaders, called the G7, met and said that everyone should play nicely in the big neighborhood called the Indo-Pacific.
They said it's important for everyone to follow the rules and not try to take things by force or bullying.
They also said that peace in the area near Taiwan is very important.
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence detected 20 Chinese military aircraft and 6 vessels near its territory on Saturday.
17 of the 20 Chinese aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern and southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
On Friday, Taiwan had detected 21 Chinese aircraft and 3 vessels, with 18 crossing the median line.
The G7 Foreign Ministers reaffirmed the importance of a free and open Indo-Pacific based on the rule of law.
The G7 expressed strong opposition to unilateral attempts to change the status quo in the Indo-Pacific, including by force or coercion.
